  • What the heck is ADHD Student Coaching?
ADHD Student Coaching is a specialized form of coaching designed to help students understand how ADHD shows up in their life and gain awareness of the unique challenges they face and develop the skills they require academically and professionally, often resulting in improvements in their personal lives as well. It’s a super collaborative approach, and the goal is to help the student build the confidence to manage their unique ADHD in a way that feels doable and effective for them. It’s all about finding what works for each student, so it’s really personalized. I recommend starting with a free 15-minute Intro Call to learn more about NextGen student coaching and determine if it's the right fit!
  • What qualifications do you need to be an ADHD Student Coach?
Coaching, including ADHD Coaching, is unfortunately not regulated. While anyone can call themselves a 'coach', credentialing through the International Coaching Federation (ICF), assures you are working with a professional coach who has met stringent education and experience requirements and have demonstrated a thorough understanding of the coaching competencies that set the standard in the profession. The International Coaching Federation (ICF) is the leading global organization for coaches and coaching. Achieving credentials through ICF signifies a coach’s commitment to integrity, understanding and mastery of coaching skills, and dedication to clients. ICF recognizes ADHD coaching as an area of expertise within coaching. I will be graduating from the Advanced ADHD Life Coach training at the International ADHD Coach Training Centre, an ICF-accredited association and getting my ACC accreditation in May 2025. I am also taking a course in Cognitive Ergonomics allowing me to dive deeper into understanding the role executive functions plays in ADHD enabling me to better understand the students I work with.
  • Does the student have to have an ADHD diagnosis to work with an ADHD Student Coach?
Not at all! Everyone's ADHD journey is unique, with many people not formally diagnosed until later in life, if at all. Often the approach taken is an optimal approach for many students looking to improve academically, regardless of any formal diagnosis. As a trained professional coach I also coach parents and caregivers who want to better understand the student they support. If you would like to learn more about working with me, please book your complimentary 15-minute Intro Call or reach out to me by email at chrissy@nextgen-adhd.com.
  • How long do students typically work with an ADHD Student Coach?
Each students situation is unique, but most student coaching relationships last between 3-6 months. During that time, I usually meet with students either weekly or bi-weekly based on their unique needs.
  • Are you accepting new clients?
Not at this time. I am working with limited clients while completing my Advanced ADHD Coach training. I plan to take on new clients and offer group coaching and workshops for the 2025-26 School Year.
  • What is the process to start coaching?
Begin by booking a free (no obligation!) 15-minute Intro Call with me. During the intro call, we'll determine if ADHD student coaching aligns with your students needs and if we're a good fit for each other. I'll look to understand how ADHD impacts your students life and the desired focus. If you're new to ADHD student coaching, this is your chance to ask questions about the process and working with me. If you would like to work with me, I will be accepting new clients for the 2025-26 school year starting August 2025. The next step would be to review the coaching packages to determine what works best for you.
  • Do you offer workshops or group coaching?
Coming soon! I am working on workshops and group coaching, hoping to have these ready mid-2025 for Parents and Students. Join my mailing list for updates!
