What is NextGen Student Coaching?

Our end goal at NextGen Student Coaching is student success. It is not about helping students 'get by' or solving problems for them. It’s about working together to raise awareness about how ADHD affects their lives, the role of executive functions, and the skills needed to succeed with their unique brains.

Through the process of gaining self-awareness and accepting their ADHD, students stop fighting against their brain and start using it to their advantage.

How does student coaching work?

From the discovery call to the wrap-up, you and your teen are supported and set up for future success!

Discovery Call

The first step is to book a free 15-minute discovery call to see if student coaching is the right support for your teen. This is your chance to ask all the questions!

Goal Setting

The first session focuses on working together to identify your teen's unique strengths, their challenges and their desired academic and personal goals.

Weekly 1:1

Weekly 1:1 sessions focused on student goals, identifying how ADHD shows up and ways to manage it a way that works for their unique needs.

Check-Ins

Throughout the coaching, check-ins ensure alignment with initial goals, celebrate the progress made along the way and set students up for success moving forward.

Why does student coaching work?

ADHD and executive function coaching are valuable and proven tools for supporting students with ADHD. Coaches work with students and parents together to understand ADHD, increase self-awareness and shift their mindsets. This enables them to overcome challenges and succeed academically and personally.

Self-Awareness

Students gain a better understanding of their ADHD, how it affects their learning and why self-advocacy matters.

Acceptance

Students shift from frustration to understanding and action, embracing ADHD as part of who they are.

Motivation

With a clearer understanding of themselves, students tap into their strengths to create meaningful goals.

Success

The self-awareness, acceptance, and motivation, give students the confidence and drive to achieve their goals.

A student’s success isn’t just about their effort—it’s about the support system around them. ADHD and executive function challenges don’t exist in a vacuum; they impact family dynamics, communication, and daily routines. Involving parents in the coaching process ensures that strategies are supported at home, creating consistency, understanding, and long-term success. When students and parents work together, growth isn’t just possible—it’s sustainable.
